Inspired by a post on Pinterest, my kiddos and I will be conducting sentence surgery this week! I took our vocabulary words from Frog and Toad All Year, Lesson 2 and used each vocab word in a sentence (one statement, one question). The students will receive 1 popsicle stick, 1 band-aid with a period on it, 1 band-aid with a question mark on it, and of course the sentence strips to perform their "surgery" on.
Their job: As the sentence surgeon you must decide if any word in the sentence needs a capital letter (popsicle stick) and if the ending punctuation is a period or a question mark (band-aid's).
Pics will be taken of my second graders completing this lesson, cannot wait!
